About Rod and Time-Tested Treasures
Rod Reynolds - Owner of Time Tested Treasures
I was born in upstate New York on a 660-acre dairy farm. In 1959, my parents packed up my five siblings and me and moved us to the Phoenix area. I’ve been here most of my life—except for one magical year when we moved back to the farm.
As a kid, I loved exploring old barns and houses, flea markets, antique stores, creeks, rivers, and caves. One of my best adventures was in an old, abandoned barn on my grandmother’s farm, where I unearthed a handmade oxen yoke crafted by my great-grandfather. It was almost completely buried in the dirt floor, and I spent days digging it out. It weighed more than I did back then—but that piece became the start of my lifelong love for finding old, interesting treasures. Today, my great-grandfather’s oxen yoke is the first collectible visitors see, as it’s the centerpiece in the entryway of my home.
After high school, I joined the painters’ union in 1972 and later started my own painting company in 1989. I ran it until 2020, when I decided to retire and pass the business on to my grandson. That’s when I began collecting antiques and collectibles full-time.
Over the years, my travels have taken me all over Arizona and beyond—to places like Strawberry, Payson, Prescott, Wickenburg, Yuma, Las Vegas, Tucson, Casa Grande, and the Greater Phoenix area—always on the hunt for something special. Along the way, I’ve built a collection that includes antiques and vintage:
8 grandfather clocks
23 wall clocks
8 mantel clocks
4 cuckoo clocks (I now have most of them in working order)
Handcrafted wooden bowls, Figurines, Artwork, Vases, Platters, Crystal, glassware
Now, I’ve simply run out of room. So, I’m opening my home—by appointment—to interior decorators, designers, and friends who appreciate quality antiques. No public sales, no internet listings, just personal, one-on-one visits where you can see and touch the pieces for yourself.
If you love timeless treasures with a story, I’d be happy to share mine.
